Nuts are a great source of protein, good fats, calcium, vitamin E and other nutrients. It is now recommended to introduce nuts to young children between the ages of 5-7 months to reduce risk of allergies, however you must follow the advice from your Maternal and Child Health Nurse, and be extra careful if nut allergies run in the family.
½ tsp unsweetened nut butter (eg almond butter, smooth peanut butter, cashew butter)
Mash ingredients together and add a small splash of hot water, breastmilk or formula to thin out if needed. Delicious!
