Apples and pears are delicious, easily digestible fruits, and are best served cooked at this stage. Cooking them with spices introduces your baby to different lovely flavours, and the spices aid circulation and blood sugar regulation.

 

1 apple (red or green), peeled and chopped

1 pear, peeled and chopped

1 whole cardamom pod

1-2 whole cloves

Pinch of cinnamon

Place all the fruit and spices to a small pot and add a small splash of water (the fruit will release more water as you go). Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes until the fruit is soft and falls apart. Remove the cardamom pods and the cloves. Mash or blitz until you get the desired consistency. Tasted really delicious with some grated fresh ginger as well.
