The lovely sweetness of sweet potatoes goes really well with oats, and provides an excellent nutrient hit to start the morning. In combination with oats and yoghurt, this baby food recipe is full of complex carbohydrates, protein, good fats and other nourishing nutrients. A winner in our household!

1/4 cup steamed and mashed sweet potato (I make this in big batches and freeze into ice cube trays, then just pop one or two out when I need)

1/2 cup rolled oats

1/2 tsp chia seeds

1/2 – 1 cup milk of your choice (eg almond, coconut, dairy)

 

Add the oats and liquid to a small pot and cook until oats are soft and tender. Stir through the sweet potato and chia seeds, adding more milk to adjust the consistency.
